My name is Jinghong Cai. I am Chinese; I’m a Christian.
Born and raised in Communist China, my life, for many years, was that of a typical Chinese woman: quiet (I still am), respectful of my elders, obedient to the point of subservience to authority figures, be they my parents, my male relatives, my employers, or the government. I had no dreams.
Then, Jesus found me! So began my journey.
A few years ago, I discovered the biblical character Ruth, and her journey out of Moab became a metaphor for my own journey in search of freedom.
For love, Ruth left her land, her family, her customs and her religion behind, and pledged to Naohmi that “Your people shall be my people, and your God shall be my God…”
I love Jesus; I love freedom. This is my journey.
